Dr. M.S. Zaman

Sarwar Zaman is a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Biological Sciences at Alcorn State University, Mississippi. In 1989, Sarwar received his PhD in Radiation Biology from TWU in Denton, Texas. After graduation, he spent a couple of years at Johns Hopkins University's School of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. He has over two decades of teaching experience, and his current research interest includes phytoremeiation of heavy metal contaminated soil and water. Dr. Zaman is a US citizen, and was born in Chapai Nawabganj. He now lives in Clinton, Mississippi with his wife and their two children.
